This book is about a boy named Brian who is scared and stranded on a island far away from home and the pilot dead and all he has to survive with is his hatchet and without it, he wouldn't be able make weapons. Like the bow with his shoe lace cutting that in half. After all this dramatic stuff like berries bears wolfs and even a moose. He also got hit by the tornado and all of his weapons are gone but he still had his hatchet on him. He finds the plane because it crashed into the lake as well as with the pilot and thinking about the survival packet and he goes over to the plane and sees the survival packet grabs the bag then leaving, but as he was just leaving he saw the pilots head off with fish eating it after 2 months and if hadn't gotten that bag he would still be there getting eating by fish. He searches and searches but then he finds a emergency transmitter that saved his life and then he gets picked up by another pilot and he goes home.
