The Graveyard Book By Neil Gaiman

This book is about a boy named Bod Owens, he was pretty much adopted by ghosts because Man Jack killed his whole family. Bod was only a toddler when his family was killed, he managed to escape Man Jack. Bod runs to the graveyard near his house where he meets Mrs Owens and Mr Owens. They didn't know his name because he couldn't talk which is why they called him Bod A.K.A Nobody Owens. Bod meets a person named Silas who isn't alive but he's not dead. Silas takes care of Bod most of the time because ghosts can't look after a boy. When Bods about 5 years old he meets a new friend Scarlett who is a very important character in this book. Bod grows up very fast. A theme I recognized in the book was friendship which was when Bod and Scarlett first met and at the end Bod and Scarlett hug. It's also throughout the whole book with Mrs Owens, Mr Owens, Silas, the witch and all the other ghosts. He also makes friends at school but they don't last long because he dropped out of school.
I didn't like the book in the beginning but in the end I really enjoyed it. I rate this book a 8/10.
It is a book that grows on you.
