This book is about a 12 year old boy named Brian. He goes on a little plane to go and see his dad because his mum and dad have just been divorced. There is no security when he goes on the plane so he goes on the plane still with his hatchet on his belt. The plane crashes because the pilot had a heart attack. He then thought what to do so he tried to communicate with the people at the airport. Brian could't control the plane so it crashes into a small lake. He hops out of the plane but the pilot still dead in it. He finds some shelter in a small cave and stays a few nights in it. He hopes that someone comes and finds him. After a while he makes fire. He made fire by ripping up the $20.00 note that he had and got some small pieces of wood to make a fire. Then with his hatchet he gets sparks from rocks and makes a little fire. He goes out and gets some wood so he can keep it going. Brian starts to get hungry so he goes out for food. He goes to the pond and can see some little fish. He can't catch them so he crafts a spear with some wood. He can then catch many fish. After that he finds some turtle eggs. He has heaps of them and thinks that they would just taste like a normal chicken egg. Brian finds some fool-birds around the trees and crafted a bow and arrow. He tries to get one and he does. He cooks it on his fire and eats it like a roast chicken. After a while Brian builds some better shelter because a skunk eats some of his turtle eggs. He build the little hut and then a tornado hits it. He lots everything he had. Then he got up and he saw a moose, (Cow), coming towards him. The female moose kicks him around and then he gets saw hips. The next sunny morning Brian built a raft and went on lake to go to the crashed plane. He thought that there would be food and stuff that would be helpful for him. He finds some food, a gun, safety transmitter and many other things. He presses the buttons on the safety transmitter and nothing happens. He goes through the food. He finds about a weeks worth of breakfasts, lunches, dinners and desserts. Then Brian hears a plane come by. A small plane lands on the water. The pilot said to Brian that he heard the safety transmitter go off. Then he realized that it was the boy that they ere looking for for 2 months. Brian asked the pilot if he wanted something to eat.

I give this book a 10/10.
