At the start of this book Greg is doing New Years resolutions for everyone his his house. Greg's Dad said that he would be on a strict diet for New Years but Greg caught him red handed eating brownies in the basement.Greg is doing resolutions for everyone except for himself because he thinks that he is already one of the best people he knows. Christmas is coming up soon and his family haven't been giving him very good presents lately.His uncle gave him a laundry basket for Christmas but Greg denied it and just ask for some money because his Mum picks up the dirty clothes on the floor. But Greg's Mum said to his uncle that it was a great gift and know Greg can do his own laundry from know on. Greg's uncle seemed pretty proud of himself. So all Greg got for Christmas was a choure.
