This book is called Pirates of underwhere by Bruce Hale. Their are a brother and sister named Zeke and Stephanie and their cat called Fitz and they have a neighbor named Hector and Dr Prufrock who knew their aunt. Also their is a toothbrush called the brush of wisdom witch they are trying to get, but they don't find the real one. In the end it is like a cliffhanger because a bully went through the portal and the equals bad and the last sentence was, guess we have another problem to solve," I said.
