Bruno is a 9 year old boy growing up during world war two in Berlin. Bruno's dad gets promoted in the army and brunos family has to move, but he has to face leaving all his friends.
From Bruno's new house he can see a camp. one day Bruno wont's to descover what is in the camp and wonders off. As he is walking along the fence he meets a jewish boy named Shmuel who is wearing striped pajamas. Bruno and Shmual realise that they have the same birthday. As the days go by Bruno and Shmual meet nearly every day at the fence, Bruno will sneak him food and they become very good friends.
Awhile after Bruno and Shmual make a plan to break Bruno into the camp to help find his father. As they are looking for Shmuals father they end up in a group of prisinors heading to the gas chamber.
this book is really interesting and has a really sad ending i rate this book a 8/10
